New Ride

I got a new car last night. It's a 2008 Nissan Altima. It's not completely brand new but it's super nice, low miles....and still under warranty!! I'm so excited! It's a dark grey (slate) with dark grey almost black interior. Anyways, i just thought I would share the good news! I hope everyone has a great weekend!

wonderful weekend

This past weekend was so nice. We went to Dothan Saturday and ate lunch with Andrew's mom. We went and registered at Target and Babies r us for baby Grant. It was so much fun! We still have to register at Walmart for the older ladies at church, but we will do that some time soon.

We also went and looked at new cars. I have been having some car trouble and Andrew has convinced me to trade in my Jeep. I'm looking at the Chevrolet Malibu and the Altima. I like them both very much. I also love the gas mileage, especially compared to my Jeep.

Sunday we did the usual.... church, eat at Grandma's, and then relax around house. Tonight we are going to Santa Fe to eat with Whitney for her 21st b-day! Happy birthday Whitney!!

Doctor Appointment

Yesterday I went back to the docotor for my normal monthly appointment. I passed my sugar test for gestational diabetes. Everything else was normal. I only gained 4 lbs last month, putting me at 16lbs, so far. They say most women gain anywhere from 25-30lbs.... so i'm on the right track. Next month when I go back we get to do the 4-d ultrasound. I'm super excited about that! I can't wait to see what our beautiful little boy looks like. I also went shopping after the doctor appointment yesterday. It was the first time since I found out we are having a boy. I got some really cute outfits! Now we have just got to work on the nursery!

Sick

I have come down with some sort of cold. I'm guessing it's due to this hot/cold weather. I was out of work Wed and Thur but I did return today. The worse thing about getting a cold when being pregnant is you can't take medicine. I gargled salt water every couple hours and took a couple tylenol, when needed for aches. There isn't much else you can do. I feel a ton better today but sill have the drainage.

I am so glad today is Friday and we have Monday off of work . I go to the doctor Monday for my normal visit. I have to take the blood sugar test this time. Hopefully everything will turn out normal. I'm curious to see how much weight I have gained since last month. My stomach is definitely out there....especially my belly button. haha

Well, I hope everyone has a good long weekend!

Weekend

This weekend was very relaxing.

We just hung out around the house Friday night. Saturday Andrew and I went to Lowe's to pick out some stuff to do the remodeling and we had a lunch date. Saturday night we went out to eat with Mr. Bobby, Grandma Nell, Jeremy, Heather, and Maddie. It was funny watching Maddie eat the cheese dip at El Palacio's. She loves it and had it all over her.
Sunday we went to church and sat at Grandma's all day. It was nice to visit with the family for so long. Sometimes we seem to be in such a hurry, we just eat lunch and run.

This morning was very hard to get up. It was so chilly and I didn't want to get out of the covers. I felt the baby kick a ton this morning. I have been feeling it but Andrew hasn't felt it yet. He had already left for work, so he missed all the action. Maybe sometime soon he will get to feel Grant kick.

Today at work, I was told about one of my co-workers good friends who had to go to the hospital and have an emergency c-section last night. She was not due until April 19th ....so she was only 26 weeks pregnant. She had a low placenta and started bleeding a lot. The baby was in such distress they decided to go ahead and take her. The baby seems to be doing well. She weighed 2lb 3oz. She did make it through the night and they say she has good color. She is on a ventilator and they are monitoring her lung development. Please keep them in your prayers.

I can only imagine being in this situation. Sometimes we take for granted being healthy and having healthy pregancies. I know this being my first, I try to be cautious about all the signs and symptoms. I probably worry to much but I just want and pray for everything to go smoothly!

Back to normal

Everything is finally getting back to normal after the holidays. Andrew is back at work after being off, most of the month of December. As much as I enjoyed the holidays and having some time off, I am a person of routine and i'm glad to be back in one.

This week had been nice and normal. Work has been busy because of the new year. And i'm still trying to get things organized around the house and make room for all the new baby items.

Also, my television shows are finally new. This gives my some excitement b/c I don't like reruns. Tonight we have been invited to go over to a friends house and eat hamburgers/hotdogs and watch the National Championship. I'm not that interested in football unless it's Alabama or Troy playing. I'm definitely more interested in the new Grey's Anatomy thats coming on tonight. I am however grateful for the invition and for the company.

Well, I hope everyone is enjoying the New Year!!

Great Weekend

This past weekend was a great weekend, with the exception of the Alabama game Friday night. My parents came in town to visit and do our Christmas. We got several cute baby items and I got a few maternity shirts...(which I am in great need for). We also went around Brundidge into some of the antigue shops and Andrew showed them where he grew up. Sat night we went to eat at Santa Fe. Everything was delicious.... except for the weather. Andrew got up Sunday morning and went to work. I cooked us some pancakes and bacon and then they headed back to Mobile. It was a very relaxing weekend. I'm so glad they came to visit. We need more weekends like this!!

2009

Today is the beginning of the new year and I can't think of a better time to start blogging. I have been debating blogging for a while because I wasn't sure if I will keep it up. But I decided I should give it a shot. We have some many new things going on in our lives and we want to keep our families and friends up to date.

First of all, we are expecting out first child. It's a boy and we decided to name him....Grant Carter Davis. Grant is my maiden name and Carter is a family name and also Andrew's middle name. We are both very excited! (Especially Andrew about getting his little boy). We are going to do the nursery in Alabama stuff. I will post some pics when we get everything started.

We have some remodeling to do first. We are painting the kitchen and bathroom, emptying the middle room (nursery), and finishing Andrew's man building outside. I'm also very excited about getting this done.

This weekend should be fun. Tonight Alabama plays in the Sugar Bowl and tomorrow my parents are coming in town. We didn't get to see them over the Christmas holidays....so we will get to do Christmas with them. I'm excited about seeing them and getting some baby stuff. My mother is so excited about being a grandma. This will be here first grandchild!

I hope everyone has a great weekend and year 2009!
